Alverton in summer

Welcome to the Homepage of the Alverton & Kilvington Parish meeting.

Bottesford wind farm application - latest position

Alverton and Kilvington are separate villages located about on mile apart on the northern fringes of the Vale of Belvior.  Even together the two villages are too small to have a parish council and so we have a parish meeting instead.

Kilvington is mentioned in the Domesday Book and must be one of the smallest villages in Nottinghamshire.  By comparison the relative metropolis of Alverton has about 20 houses.

By and large it is assumed that the people who live here do so by choice and appreciate the relative quiet and isolation of the countryside. We are not a suburb of anywhere and hopefully never will be.

The Kilvington Challenge

Kilvington with 14 occupied households lays claim to being the smallest village in Nottinghamshire.  Can anyone beat this?  Can you Beat the Challenge
