Application for planning permission for a haulage depot

An application has been received for planning permission to change the use of Staunton Works from industrial to a haulage depot.

At a Village Meeting on Wednesay 28th October residents voted unanimouly to oppose the application.  21 residents attended which is a large percentage of the households in the two villages.

A case was put to Newark & Sherwood District Council. Many residents sent in letters of objection.

The application is for change of use to "storage and associated haulage". In fact this is for a distribution depot pure and simple.  This is a big site (about 14.5 acres) and as the application covers the whole site this is a very important application.
