New footpath

New footpath

The Staunton Estate have opened a new permissive footpath.  This creates a circular route from Kilvington Church and is part of a larger scheme intended to promote wildlife in the area.  Click for map

Community speed watch

Community Speed Watch involves trained, local residents operating speed detection equipment lent by Notts Police.  Alverton and Kilvington have joined the scheme. The scheme is now in operation.  Following the start of the scheme, Notts Police have also attended and a number of speeding drivers have received fixed penalties and warnings.

The objective of the programme is to reduce speed through the villages.

The "Village Green"

Not really a village green but an amenity area has been provided by British Gypsum overlooking the restored gypsum workings.  British Gypsum have very kindly landscaped and fenced the site.  Memorial benches have been provided by Julie Nicholson in memory of her husband Paul and Derek Kennedy in memory of his wife Betty.
